Mansfield in her Own Words

Discover Katherine Mansfield like you’ve never heard her before.

In Her Own Words is a concert of selected poems by celebrated New Zealand writer, essayist and journalist, Katherine Mansfield, set to contemporary music.

Determined and fierce, unafraid and unapologetic, Mansfield is hailed as a literary punk icon. Her vivid tales and equally vivid life have inspired some of the best musicians in Aotearoa to create this breathtaking collection of Mansfield music.

Narrated by Michèle A’Court and curated by Charlotte Yates, this stunning concert features the likes of music luminaries Julia Deans, Lawrence Arabia, Will Ricketts (Phoenix Foundation), Tanea Heke (Cousins), Lorina Harding and French for Rabbits.

This is Mansfield mania at its most magnetic.

Review quotes:

“To rejuvenate Mansfield’s poetry with music is an idea so perfect, a pairing so ideal, that it’s surprising such a project hasn’t been completed before.”
