A cranky tractor, a charging ram and possibly a world-first in removing an eel from a goose’s nostril…Yachting journalist Rebecca Hayter follows a crazy whim to return home to Golden Bay and buy a lifestyle block on her own at the age of 52.
With her cat Chakra, Charlotte the ute, and plenty of advice from the local community, she faces
droughts and floods, local politics and pests, and a stack of selfdoubt. But she also finds new skills,
establishes the Circle of Love to help her community through COVID, and completes a long-delayed
journey of the heart.
